Glen Edward Fox, 73, of Diboll, was born March 14, 1936 in Angelina Co., Texas, the son of the late Bertie Mae (Teer) and Glaucus Fox. He passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009 in a Lufkin hospital.
Glen was retired from Bright Transportation as a commercial truck driver. He enjoyed his work, but also enjoyed being at home with his family - he loved his grandbabies! He enjoyed fishing, was an avid bowler, enjoyed drinking coffee at the Brisket House and swapping tall tales with all the other coffee drinkers. He also enjoyed playing Bingo, and whenever there was a door open to play, he was there. Glen was a member of First Baptist Church in Diboll, loved gospel music, and was a good Christian man. He served his country in the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Tommie Fox; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Jerry McGuire; grandchildren, Amanda & Barry Pope, Gregory & Roxanne Long, tacie & Todd O'Neal, Jeff & Tammy McGuire and Shan & Stacey McGuire; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Vicki Fox; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda & Red Atkins; sister, Billie Ruth Metcalf; numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends: Billie Rae Rice, Lottie Jo Bobbitt, Margie Kenner, Tracy, Billy and Kenneth Wayne Saxton, and Erica and Albert Mijares.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvin Fox; sisters, Martha Ellen Bankston-Clay and Frances Jones.
Graveside services for Glen will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.
