Laverna M. Miller, 101, a resident at Valley View Nursing center, and formerly of Sherman St., Williamsport, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at the home.
She was born July 15, 1909, in Maston, Pa., a daughter of Clayton and Jessie Bennett Worthington.
Laverna was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a life member of the Williamsport Garden Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Miller on April 7, 1983.
She is also predeceased by her brothers, Earl and Guy Worthington, and by her sisters, Beatrice Young, Ruth Deane, Elizabeth Hammer, Hannah Hewes and Ethel Bennett.
Laverna is survived by her sister, Floye Walker of Stockton, Calif.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Roy D. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
