James Levingston Armstrong, aged 68 years, died at his home in Plaingrove township Saturday, May 7, after an illness of one week of complications. Mr. Armstrong was born in Plaingrove township, January 8, 1859, a son of Samuel and Eliza Davidson Armstrong. He was one of the well-known farmers of the community. He was a member of the Plaingrove Presbyterian church. Besides his widow, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Sara Stevenson and Mrs. W. L. Dight of Plaingrove township, one sister, Mrs. William McKintosh of Fayetteville, Ark., and two brothers, Robert of Plaingrove township and William of Youngstown. Funeral services took place this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home with Rev. A. J. Dirkenson, officiating. Burial was made in Plaingrove cemetery.
