SLIPPERY ROCK – H. Eugene Hunt, 64, of RD 3, Plain Grove Township, died at 8:45 p.m. yesterday in Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle after a brief illness. He was born in Wheatland, Pa. Feb. 4, 1907 to the late John S. and Dora Lowery Hunt. He was a retired employe of the Cooper-Bessemer Corp. of Grove City with 30 years service. Mr. Hunt was a member of Plain Grove South United Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Lois Studebaker, whom he married Feb. 20, 1926; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Naomi) Wolff of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. James (Donna) Cooper of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Dean of Portersville; a son Melvin E. of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Dean and Mrs. Ethel Marker of New Castle; two brothers, Carl of Rockwell City, Iowa and John of Port Richey, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Friends will be received at the Joseph W. Ligo Funeral Home, Slippery rock from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Ralph McCandless of Plain Grove South UP Church. Burial will be in Plain Grove South UP Church Cemetery.
