HARLAN, Ind. - Leland C. Eager, 80, a winter resident of the Palmetto Mobile Home Club, Palmetto, Fla., die at 4:10 p.m. Friday in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla., where he had been a patient since April 3. He had spent the summer months in Allen County, Ind.
Born Jan. 30, 1902, in Allen County, Ind., he was the son of Harley and Laura (Burrier) Eager. On Jan. 30, 1921, he married Mae Cole, who survives.
He was a member of North Scipio United Methodist Church, was an amateur radio operator and was past president of Palmetto Mobile Home Club.
Also surviving are his wife; one son, Dale, Harlan, Ind.; two daughters, Helen Harter, Cleveland, and Georgia Zimmerman, Woodburn, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Michael Malone of North Scipio United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Scipio Cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to North Scipio United Methodist Church.
