Several weeks ago one of the county's pioneers, Mary Ann Swim had a fall from which she never fully recovered from the shock and on September 11 she passed away at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 22 days. She was a native of Berkley county, (W)Va., and was born April 19, 1808, and moved to Ohio in early life. There she married Isaac Swim Nov. 28(Nov.15), 1827. This couple moved to Johnson township, this county, in 1843, and with exception of one or two years remained residents of that township until their deaths. To them were born nine children, five of whom survive them; also thirty-two grand children and forty-one great grand children are left to mourn the loss. This aged lady joined the Christian church fifty years ago and has been a consistent member since. The funeral services were held in the Bell church, Rev. McCash officiating, and the interment was in the Long Point cemetery.
