James R. Ault, 63, northeast Kansas City, died May 13, 1987, at a hospital in Bolivar, Mo. He was born in Nelson, Mo., and lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Ault had been a machinist for Gear Headquarters. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Fraternal Order of Foresters. Survivors include two sons, James Ault II and Douglas Ault of Independence; a daughter, Virginia Oliver, Kansas City; three brothers, Thomas Ault, Kirksville, Mo., Bob Ault, Claremore, Okla., and Don Ault, Stockton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be 8 p.m. today at the Carson Independence Chapel; cremation. Friends may call 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice.
