Former U.S. Fifth Division Army Sergeant Homero Cavazos, 57, was called by the lord on Jan. 14, 2006 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, with his family by his side. He was born on Dec. 5, 1948 in Brownsville, and had been a life time resident.
He was a member of El Buen Pastor Methodist Church served as a masonry, also a member of the U.S. Army Ft. Riley Flying Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Cavazos.
He is survived by his caring wife, Martha Leticia Cavazos. They were blessed with a beautiful 26 year marriage; mother, Magdalena Cavazos; five sons, George Trevino, Samuel, John Joe, Homer Cavazos Jr., and Rodolfo Cavazos; and one daughter, Griselda Cavazos; brother, Arnold C. Cavazos; sister, Nidia Ruiz; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a prayer service to be recited at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at Delta Chapels. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Delta. Interment will follow to Guillen Community Cemetery.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Veterans Honor Guard.
