Samuel Harvey Kring, born Aug, 10, 1887, in Nappanee, Indiana, the son of Emanuel and Barbara (Mast) Kring, of Plymouth, Indiana.
From Indiana, Sam moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, and homesteaded the land.
He met the love of his life in Canada, and on Apr. 11, 1911, in Moose Jaw , Saskatchewan, Canada, Sam married Grace Royal Shull, of White Rock, Canada. Born Jan. 18, 1891, in Nappanee, Ind., the daughter of Melvin and Elizabeth (Swank) Shell.
In Indiana, Sam was a Farmer at hart, and made a living working the land. In late 1910, Sam read a flyer from the U.S./ Canadean Government, saying if anyone would move to Canada, homestead and work 40 acres of land for two years, the land was be yours tax free. That's all Sam needed, he packed his things, and headed north, and never to return to the U.S.A.
The union between Samuel and Grace was blessed with seven children; Lucille P. (1911-___), Harold E. (1914-___), Marguerite (1917-___), Samuel S. (1919-___), Robert E. (1920-___) James M. (1924-___), and Gordon R. (1935-___).
On Jan. 27, 1964, Samuel passed away in his home of natural causes.
Both Sam and Grace were buried in Newton Valley Memorial Cemetery, British Columbia, Canada.
