DAVENPORT -- Pauline I. "MEMA" Argo, of Davenport passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 surrounded by her loving family while being ministered to. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, 11:30 a.m. at Runge Mortuary, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born on Oct. 17, 1915, in Pleasanton, Iowa, the daughter of Adelbert A. and Emma (Turpen) McWilliams. She was united in marriage to William T. Argo on June 11, 1938, in Davenport. He preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1990. She was a devote Christian women, being a lifetime member of Community of Christ Church. She began her working career at FW Means for many years, later working for 20 years and retiring from Davenport School System. Pauline and William owned several rental properties, which they enjoyed fixing up together. Pauline was a hardworking, patient mother. After working all day she would retire home, cook, and take care of her children, but never complained. She loved peace and quiet. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren, they were her life. Pauline was always there for anyone who needed her help. She also was a huge cat lover, especially of her two cats, Sam and Violet. Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and son-in-law, Naomi VanSickle, Ventura, Calif., Joyce and Bill Stinocher, Davenport; son and daughter-in-law, Bill G. and Maureen Argo, Davenport; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Amor Vansickle, Golden, Colo., Cathy Caron, Ventura, Calif., Bill and Kathleen Argo, Gina and Matt VanLandschoot, John and Lori Argo, Michelle and David Kopatich, Rachel Argo, and Lori and Doug Karman, all of the Quad City area; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two nieces also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents, a brother and two sisters, and a great-granddaughter, Christie Nice. The family would like to thank VNA Hospice for all their loving care and support.
