Age 81 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, September 27, 1997 at Southview Hospital. A retired Lieutenant of the Dayton Fire Department with 27 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife Gladys L. (Hayes) Schindler (Dec. 2, 1990). He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bob Steiger of Dayton; son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Sandy Schindler of FL, a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Treva Schindler of Tipp City; 2 grandchildren, Lara McGriff of Dayton, Lisa Sheets & husband Bryan of Miamisburg; 2 great-grandchildren, Amanda and Rebecca Sheets and a brother-in-law, Bob Hayes of Dayton. Funeral services at Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton. Dr. George Phillips officiating. Burial Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Heart Assn.
