Albert "Al" Christian, 76, long-time Rushville resident passed away 5:00 PM, on April 10, 2011 at the Arbor Grove Nursing Home in Greensburg, Indiana.
Al was born August 10, 1934 in Greensburg, IN to Albert Christian and Florence (Clemons) Christian. Al married Clara Frances Miller in 1960 and she preceded him in death 1977. He then married Lorene Schively 1979 and she preceded him in death 1995.
Al was a Raleigh High School graduate in the Class of 1953. He had worked at McCreary Block (Rushville) for seventeen years and also an auto mechanic at Hubler, Art Mullin, and Harold and Pell Motors in Rushville. He was a member of the American Legion #150 and a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge and a Golden Eagle #2036.
Al leaves behind four sons, William Albert Christian of Kansas, Bruce (and wife, Missy) Christian of Rushville, IN, Ricky (and wife, Tiffany) Christian of Lawton, Oklahoma and Terry (and wife, Jody) Christian of Indianapolis, IN, five daughters, Sandra Kay Christian of Connersville, IN, Mrs. Alan (Bonnie) Farthing of Rushville, IN, Mrs. Bob (Joy) Oakley of Greensburg, IN, Mrs. David (Robin) McDonald of Manilla, IN and Mrs. Jerry(Penny) Adams of Rushville, IN, one brother Richard Christian of Rushville, IN, one sister, Dorothy Wood of Arkansas, several grandchildren and one great grandson.
In addition to his wife Al was preceded in death by 3 sisters , one brother and his parents.
