"Doc" Roberts, as he was known, operated a family medical practice in Denver from 1938 until his retirement in 1983.
A 1932 graduate of the University of Texas, he graduated in 1936 from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.
Roberts interned at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, where he served as chief resident physician from 1936 to 1938.
He was a member of the American Medical Association and received an award of recognition from the AMA's 50 Year Club. He was one of the first inductees into the Okemah, Okla., Hall of Fame in 1978.
Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church of Okemah.
Born in Sentinel, Okla., he was the son of the late Pliny W. and Linnie L. Watson Roberts.
He was married seven years on Nov. 4 to Janie L. Harkey Roberts. His first wife, Mildred H. Roberts, died in 1990.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Carole E., married to Nicholas Barry of Garden City, N.Y.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Noweta Melton of Springville, Mo.; and a brother, George of Glendale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance R. Monti; a sister, Sallie Trow; and two brothers, Luther and P.W. Jr.
