Son of Emma and Louis Barthelman. Harry was a U.S. Army veteran and received a purple heart. He was a member of Trinity United Lutheran Church and Waukegan Moose #706 also a member of Elks Lodge 702, AARP 150 Lake County, and belonged to Lake County Coin Club, member of Lake County Council for seniors, American Legion, etc. Harry married his wife Doris, August 1, 1947 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. They owned a grocery store in Huron, South Dakota, the first three years. He worked at Ft. Sheridan until he retired in 1983. He is survived by wife Doris; one daughter, Shirley (Dewayne) Nelson of Buena Park, CA; one grandson, David Nelson; one granddaughter, Pamela (William) Clark; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Rebecca, David Clark and Alexandria Nelson all of California; one dear sister-in-law Mabella Barthelman and one niece and three nephews.
