Veteran of the American Revolution. He enlisted in Capt. James Blakeslee's Company from Vermont in the Revolutionary War in 1781.

Son of Zephaniah Shepardson and Ruth (Hills) Shepardson (1733-1782) of Attleboro,MA and Guilford,VT.

He married, first, at Guilford,VT on Oct 25,1787, Zerviah/Zervier Packer.

He married, second, on Feb 15,1807, Lucy Stedman. She was born on Sep 13,1783, a daughter of Philemon Stedman and Sarah (Babcock) Stedman. Lucy may be the widow Lucy Shepardson who married Rev. George Robinson(widower of Asenath Carpenter Robinson) on Nov 12,1829.

Children(by first marriage): Jared Shepardson, Rebecca Shepardson Weid, Zerviah/Zervier Shepardson Grinnell, Joseph Shepardson Jr, Lucinda Shepardson Babcock, William Henry Shepardson, James Parker Shepardson, Horatio Jefferson Shepardson, and Salome Shepardson Bell.
