Susan Marie Sanderson Christensen

Our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend finished her triumphant battle of sixteen years to cancer on Thursday, 31 March 2011. She was welcomed home by her loving Father in Heaven.

Susan was born in Payson, Utah, on 14 January 1949 to Leland and Audrey Sanderson of Eureka, Utah. She is the second of five children. Susan loved being a cheerleader, and graduated valedictorian of her class from Eureka High School. She met and fell in love with Fred Christensen. She married him for time and all eternity on 30 August 1969 in the Manti Temple. They have been in love with each other and always together for the last forty-two years. This was just the beginning of her great legacy of eight children and twenty-six grandchildren, as well as the numerous children she cared for and numbered as her own.

Susan loved life. Even when she was diagnosed with breast cancer she was determined never to give up. In addition to the cancer she suffered from multiple sclerosis, and scoliosis. These illnesses eventually took their toll on her body and succeeded in taking her physical body from the ones here on earth that love her. She never stopped trying to take care of those she loved most, and is a strong example to her posterity. After being diagnosed with cancer she was expected to have 5-10 years, but was blessed with sixteen years with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Although she will be greatly missed by so very many, we can't help but rejoice that she was relieved of her worldly battle and no longer suffers. She is now with all of her loved ones and will watch over them with more strength than her earthly body could have ever allowed her to do.

Susan leaves behind a rich legacy of a loving husband, Fred O. Christensen and children Shane & Jennifer Christensen (Santaquin), Jason & Tricia Christensen (Bountiful), Tami & Ed Bentley (Santaquin), Heidi & Jack Carlson (Kearns), Alisha & Jay Hurst (Santaquin), Michelle & Trent Leifson (Richfield), Eric Lance Christensen (Santaquin), Tracy & Jake Loveless (Santaquin), and twenty two grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Audrey Sanderson (Eureka), and siblings Jerry & Katie Sanderson (Herriman), Mike & Debbie Sanderson (West Jordan), Brent & Annette Sanderson (Lehi), and Cindy & Steve Child (Eureka).

She is preceded in death by her father Leland Sanderson, Four grandchildren: Dustin & Justin Carlson, and Kyle & Joseph Bentley, a daughter-in-law, Melissa Christensen, two nephews (Aaron and Scott) and many others who welcomed her home with loving arms.

We love you!

Well done my Lovely "Lady".

May we all live so we can see you again!
