At 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2008, at 95 years of age, Ruth Randolph Chunn departed this life and entered Heaven's glory. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She loved her family, friends and church family. She enjoyed reading the Bible, doing crossword puzzles and loved music. She was born in Union County on Jan. 13, 1913, to John and Emily Williams Randolph.
She is survived by three children, Judy Swann (Jimmy) of Tupelo, Mike Chunn (Sue) of New Albany and Sara Ruth Morton (Tommy) of Pontotoc; seven grandchildren, Janna Swann Jennings (Chris), Jalon Swann (Stacey), Jaren Swann, Lauren Chunn Ashley (Kenny), CiCi Chunn, Jon Morton and Emily Morton; four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Edith Randolph; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Chunn; four brothers, Peyton Randolph, John Franklin Randolph, Joab Randolph and Jack Randolph; and three sisters, Miriam Greenhill, Mary Shirley and Sarah Carnell.
Services were held at United Funeral Service Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008.
