He was born on April 18, 1944 in Muncie to Howard L. Adney and Marcine (Egly) Adney. His father precedes him in death on April 23, 1994.
Dale graduated from Hartford City High School in 1962.
He married Ellen A. (Clidinst) on January 19, 1974 in New Albany, Indiana.
Dale retired from Marsh Warehouse in Yorktown in 2006 after forty-six years of service. He was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren and the Redkey United Methodist Church. He loved NASCAR racing, tractor pulls and RFD TV. He was an award-winning archer. Dale and Ellen were active in Adney Ministry, where Dale was the sound technician and he was the producer of 2 of their 7 projects. He was the best grandpa and great-grandpa kids could ever ask for.
Dale will be sadly missed by his wife, Ellen A. Adney of Hartford City; sons, Skip D. Adney of Hartford City, Scott A. Adney of Hartford City; daughters, Lisa L. (husband, Brook) Emerick of Portland, Jennifer E. (husband, Brian) McKinley of Pekin; mother, Marcine Adney of Bluffton; mother-in-law, Elaine Clidinst of Muncie; grandchildren, Alicia Dennis, Zachary Emerick, Brittney Wright, Tiarra Adney, Storm Adney, Brian McKinley II, Kylie McKinley, Allison McKinley and Tyler Adney; great-grandchildren, Carter Dennis and Maddilyn Emerick; one great-grandson on the way, Cooper Wright; sisters, Sharon S. (husband, Howard) Moriarity of Bluffton; Carolyn B. (husband, Bill) Rains of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.
