He had been employed as a foreman for King Seely in Ann Arbor. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge No. 76 F&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 145. He was also a member of the Pinckney Congregational Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Roberta Ackley of Ann Arbor and Margaret Wolf of Ohio; one son, Donald R. of California; one sister, Gene Weber of Arizona; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 15 at the Shelters Funeral Home in Pinckney, with the Rev. S. Earle Trudgen of Pinckney Congregational Church officiating. Burial was in Pinckney Cemetery. A Masonic service was held Jan. 14 at the funeral home.
