John Elmon McGrone (Muhammad Sharieff), 70, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in his residence. He was born on Oct. 22, 1938, in Indianola, Miss., to Charles McGrone and Josephine Jackson McGrone.
He was employed by Peabody Coal Company, Gartland Foundry and Carlisle PrisonSurvivors include his wife, Violetta Long McGrone; son, Bryan (Mia) McGrone (Mustafa Ash (Mia) Sharieff) and Bradley McGrone; son-in-law, Kenneth Gilbert; daughters, Rita Long, Sheila Long and Christian (Bill) Manwaring; sisters, Ida B.
