William, the son of George and Martha Dumville Corner, was born on October 23, 1761 in Cheshire, England.

William was twenty-one and Mary Broadhurst, was eighteen when they married on April 15, 1783 in Cheshire, England.

They came to America in 1795.

The 1800 census revealed they were living in Territory Northwest of the River Ohio. Only males age twenty-one and over were listed; Israel Stone and son, Jasper.

The 1820 census revealed Mary Stone (26-44) was living alone in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Her son, George and family lived next door.
