Miss Verble Tucker married Roger Aubrey Cockburn on 5 October 1936 in Olney. He preceded her in death on October 7,1972.

She attended school in Orth, Ingleside, and True communities.

She was employed as a clerk at the Olney Drug, Daily's Drug, and Goodnight Drug Stores. She was also an employee of Ben Franklin's in Olney and Weatherford for several years. She was a charter member of the Olney Boots and Saddle Club and a past member of the Ingleside Ladies Club. While in Olney she was a member of the Church Street Church of Christ and after moving to Weatherford, Texas in 1979 she was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jodie LaDell Christal on October 16, 2002, as well as all of her brothers.

Survivors include one daughter: Morell Garrett and husband Jimmy of Irving, Texas; a son-in-law: Jerry Christal of Lake Somerville, Texas; one sister: Mae Dell Armontrouttof Granbury, Texas; six grandchildren: Vicki Wilson and husband Dick of Lewisville, Texas, Janice Garrett and Jimmi Garrett both of Irving, Texas, Fran Dahl and husband David of Katy, Texas, Aubrey Christal and wife Melissa of Katy, Texas, and Jerry Alvin Christal and wife Irene of Bryan, Texas; seven great grandchildren: Melanie Fletcher and husband Chad of Fort Worth, Texas, Mandi Reagan of Springfield, Missouri, Christopher Dahl of Katy, Texas, Christina Dahl of Katy, Texas, Matthew Christal of Katy, Texas, Jerry Alvin Christal, Jr. of Tennessee, and Alexia Christal of Tennessee; one great-great grandson: Travis Lee Fletcher of Fort Worth, Texas; extended family members: H.E. "Tink" Sickles and his sons Jacob and Brock all of Katy, Texas; one brother-in-law and ten sisters-in-law.
