Joann was the daughter of Walter J. and Celeste Jeanette (Parks) Winship. She married Paul D. Day, October 3, 1948, in Canton. He survives.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Also surviving are three daughters, Cinda (Marc) Rosenberger, Connie (Rob) Brown and Crista Goehl (Doug) fiancé Robertson; and one brother, Walter (Charlotte) Winship.

She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid animal lover.
