Virginia Belle Moore Booth, 89, Erwin, passed on to her heavenly home April 7, 2011 at Unicoi County memorial Hospital's Long term Care Unit after an extended illness. A native of Erwin, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Eugene and Melinda Belle Guinn Moore. She was a member of 9th Street Baptist Church and member of the Dorcas Sunday School class. She and her husband served faithfully on several committees at 9th Street through the years. She accepted her faith in Jesus Christ as the most important thing in hr life and was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She was blessed with kindness and compassion which was apparent to all who knew her.

She was retired from the Unicoi County Election Commission with 22 years of service as the Registrar of Elections.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death on April 30, 2005 by her best friend and husband of 63 years, Fred D. Booth, Jr., one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Wayne Bannister, brothers Tom Moore and wife Virginia, Doyle Moore and wife Ruth and Charles Moore, son-in-law, Joe Hopson, granddaughters Leslie Shannon Guinn, Sherrie Joan Hopson Ervin and nephew Richard Bannister.

Virginia is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Fred Booth III and Kathy (Ray), Nashville, daughters, Linda Hopson, Erwin, Jennie Lou Ruble and husband Don, Erwin, Cathy Butler and husband Keith, Jonesborough. Sister Becky Bennett, Grandchildren, Jeff Guinn, Mark Guinn, Jay Hopson and wife Rita, Jeff Hopson and wife Josie, Matt Booth, Emily Booth Masters and husband Randal, Mike Ruble and wife Kayla, Josh Ruble, Julie Lamie Collins and husband Michael, Ben Lamie and wife Ginger, Bryon Butler and wife Betsy, Michael Butler, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Several nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Dr. Chris Ward, Pastor Garland James and Ed Manfull officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlisle Love, Brady Stockton, Bert Thompson, Kendall Morgan, Wiley Elliott, Ron Sathe, John Bannister, Jerry Wilson, and Robert Finch. Music selections favored by Mrs. Booth and husband will be played as a tribute to them and other music provided by Becky Manfull and Janice Johnson. The family will welcome friends from 1:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home chapel. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin.

The family would like to give special thanks to pastor Garland James of Grace Methodist Church for his comfort and prayers in recent months, Dr. Charles Miller, the staff of Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care and Caris Hospice for their tireless care and devotion to our mother.

The family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at 950 W. Faris Road, Greeneville, SC 29605-4277, www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
