Melvin R.Hollatz, son of Heinrick Gustav and Bertha Augusta (Bohn) Hollatz, was born January 6, 1916 on the family farm north of Ventura. He married Iva Belle Nagle on June 6, 1945. They farmed for many years together until retirement. Melvin passed away on December 14, 1996. Services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church, the church that he was baptzed, confirmed and schooled in.
