His first wife was Martha Childs, married on December 1, 1830. With Martha he had three sons:

His second wife was Ann Trott. No marriage record has been found as of yet, but they are listed together on 1850 and 1870 censuses. This entire Jones family cannot found ANYWHERE in the 1860 census. (Was their home skipped over?)
James and Ann had 8 children together.
