A gentle giant, with strong voice, and a favorite of his nephews and nieces. He loved Norma, his wife, children, and family more than anything. He was the man you found at city council meetings, church events, and was a personal magnet. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, who built a house on a hill and shared the view, and a libation, with all who visited.
Bud was the son of Harry Roy Hixson and Lola Marie Lea, both of pioneer Califonia families. A devoted teamster, a safe and reliable employee, he drove large trucks from logging to fuel tankers for decades and perhaps millions of miles. Bud served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War Two.
Descendents of Roy Lea Hixson are also descendents of Doctor Thomas Hinde who took an active part in the American Revolutionary War serving as Surgeon General with Patrick Henry's 1st Virginia Militia in various campaigns and battles.
