THE DETROIT NEWS-HERALD, 8 Oct 1936 from microfilm in Clarksville Library: 'J. Sid Buford, 71, a native of Delta County and a resident of Paris since he was a small child, died at his home in Paris Saturday at 11 a.m. of heart attack. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Oscar Morgan, with whom he made his home; Mrs. John B. Hollje, Mrs. G. D. Shelton, Mrs. Webber Williams, Mrs. Martha Sheerer, Duncan, Ok.; Sam G. Buford, Seminole, Ok., and Jack E. Buford, Dallas. He also leaves 2 sisters: Mrs. S. A. McCuistion, Paris and Mrs. P. P. Taintor, New Boston and a brother, Dr. T. W. Buford, Minter.'
