Frank Meadows Hagood was born May 13, 1897 to Mary Emily Juhan Hagood and her husband, Jasper Louis Hagood, and he died in April of 1928 at his home in Denver, Colorado. He married Miss Lillian McKenzie on August 31, 1924. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a Mason, an Elk, and member of the Denver Post of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and afterward of Atlanta Business College. He joined the navy in May of 1917, sailed on the flag ship Mellville, and was the admiral's secretary until he was injured in a shipwreck. In Denver, he founded and edited the Fort Lyon News. He was made Judge of the Probate Court of Denver and was serving his second term at the time of his death at the age of thirty-one. He was survived by his widow and two year old son, Frank, Jr. Another son, Kenneth was born a few months after his father's death. He was also survived by his mother, Mary Hagood and brothers Victor, William Ivie, Jasper L., Jr., and Benjamin Oliver and sisters, Margaret H. Copeland, Miss Mary Hagood and Miss Annie Hagood. Frank was the first one buried on the Bettie Juhan lot in the Shadowlawn cemetery. Miss Bettie Juhan, his aunt, and Margaret H. Copeland and her husband Hugh Copeland are also buried on the lot.
