From the The Saline Reporter (Electronic Edition), June 5, 2008:

CAROL KEMPF MILLER

Carol Betsy Kempf Miller, a lifelong resident of Saline, died May 17, 2008, at age 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry F. Kempf and Dr. Harold Miller of Saline.
In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Neva Shock; a son, David Russell Kempf; eight brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Marilyn "Dolly" Kempf Cook of Dallas and Jan (Kempf) Haddad of Dorr; and stepsons, Richard Miller of Kansas City, Mo., Gerald Miller of Saline and Stephen Miller of Jefferson, N.C., who officiated at the services.
Survivors also include 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller was a retired licensed practical nurse and a past member of the Saline Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Eastern Star of Saline, where she had served as a "worthy matron."
There were no strangers to Mrs. Miller. If you knew her, you never forgot her, and she knew and touched the lives of so many. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or to the Saline Hospital Auxiliary.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the entire staff of Saline Evangelical Home and Saline hospital for their exceptional care for her and their compassion for the family. They all went above and beyond and it did not go without notice. Again thank you all.
