Marian Hart, 94, of Storden died Jan. 25, 2004, at Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook.

Services were held Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden with Rev. Alan Bur-esh officiating.

Special music was provided by Gladys Herding, organist; and Elizabeth Johnson, vocalist.

Casketbearers were Curt Olson, Cory Swenson, Melvin Forseth, Paul Steen, Lyle Swenson and Dale O. Nelson.

Honorary bearers were Marian's great-nephews, Michael Barron, David Barron and Matt Robertson.

Interment was at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Storden.

Storden was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Marian Thynes was born April 4, 1909, to Hans and Guinelia (Monson) Thynes in Storden. She was baptized and later confirmed at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church in rural Westbrook.

In 1934, she married Merrill 'Bud' Hart. The couple lived on a farm near Revere for four years before moving back to the Storden area where they lived on what was known as the John Sabolik farm.

Marian worked for Bakke's grocery store and Tibodeau Hatchery.

Marian and Merrill bought a farm west of Storden and lived there until Merrill died in 1978. Marian moved into Storden and lived there until becoming a resident of Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook in 2002.

Marian enjoyed her home and homemaking as well as gardening, canning and baking.

She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden, where she was a member of the ALCW, a janitorette for 10 years and served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. Marian also was a co-chairman of the quilting circle for several years.

In addition to her husband, Merrill, Marian was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Engel Thynes; two sisters, Jessie Peterson and Myrtle Barron; and a niece and nephew, Greta Butler and Kenneth Barron.

Survivors include nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nephews.
