CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP, BEAVER COUNTY — Rotha Roberta Cunningham, Chippewa Township, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2009, in her residence. She was 89. Mrs. Cunningham was born June 4,1919, in Grove City to Raymond J. and Urla Buxton Lightner. She was a 1937 graduate of Grove City High School. Mrs. Cunningham worked for 20 years at Hostess Gift Shoppe in Beaver. She was a member of Plain Grove Presbyterian Church. As a wonderful mother andgrandmother, she was a great homemaker and enjoyed her home and family. Herhusband, Howard E. Cunningham, whom she married Nov. 24, 1939, passed
away Jan. 10, 2003. Surviving are: a daughter, Inean Cunningham, Chippewa Township; a daughter in-law, Marianna Cunningham, Austintown, Ohio; a son-in-law, Keith Hortert, Chippewa Township; two grandchildren, Stacy Pilutti and her husband Mike; and Howard Cunningham and his wife Lesa; and six great-grandchildren, Steffi, Jack, Paige, Brittany, Alexis and Paxton. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bill Cunningham; and a brother, Jim Lightner. Memorial contributions may be made to Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, 626 Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057; or Mother Teresa Hospice, 3950 Brodhead Road, Monaca, PA 15061.
