Elizabeth "Betty" T. Maag, 89, Defiance, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

She was born August 24, 1921, in Defiance, the daughter of Charles J. and Catherine (Hetz) Eck. On February 21, 1946, she married A. James Maag, who died April 22, 2010. She was a homemaker and member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a member of Robbin Red Breast.

Surviving are three sons, John C. Maag of Findlay, Ohio, James M. "Squirt" (Becky) Maag of Defiance and Joseph A. (Carol) Maag, Defiance; six grandchildren, Doug Maag, Andrea Burns, Kristen Burgess, Alan Maag, Julie Maag and Jay Maag; and five great-grandchildren, Grace and Quinn Bruns, Michael and Ryne Maag and Josie Maag.

Preceding her in death were her husband, A. James Maag; her parents; a daughter, Catherine Ann Maag; two brothers, Florian J. and Charles A. Eck; and a sister, Mary C. Kehnast.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, rural Defiance, with Father Robert Kill and Father David Tscherne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
