Mrs. Mary Blackwell Parrett, 81, of Route 2, died yesterday at 6 a.m. at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Staunton after a long illness.
Mrs. Parrett was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro and was the widow of Luther M. Parrett.
A native of Albermarle County, she was born on May 17, 1885, a daughter of the late James E. and Martha Rogers Gardner.
She is survived by the following children by her marriage to Price B. Blackwell, who preceded her in death in 1948; one son, Price B. Blackwell Jr. of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Carle A. (Lillian) Coiner of Route 2, and Mrs. James H. (Margaret) Mann of Poolesville, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Hill of Charlottesville; two brothers, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home to be conducted by the Rev. E. B. Bratcher, with interment in the Graham Cemetery in Orange.
Active pallbearers will be Carl A. Coiner Jr., Douglas E. Smith, Kenneth Coiner, Edward Coiner, Wesley Coiner and H. M. Jordan.
