The death of Cornelius B. Acker occurred on Wednesday, June 25, at a nursing home in Kingston, Kings County, following a long illness. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Acker of Lake Pleasant, and was born at Hunter's Lodge, 86 years ago. His wife, who was Miss Rosana Mailman before marriage, predeceased him some years ago. Surviving are three daughters: Loverta , Mrs. Layton Conrad, Stanburne; Eldora, Mrs. William Perkins, Middleton; Janice, Mrs. Laurie Ernst, Ontario; four sons, Harold, Springfield; Pearlie, Kingston; Eldon, Halifax; Banford, Lake Pleasant. The remains were taken to Hemford for burial, where the funeral service was conducted by the Rev. S.G. MacQueen, pastor of the United Church, and was held in the Union Church at Hemford. The floral offerings were beautiful, a silent tribute to the departed.
