PETERSON, Mary E. "Ethel" (99) of Priest River, Idaho passed away in Newport on March 31, 2007. Ethel was born July 20, 1907 in Rolla, Missouri the daughter of William J. and Nellie (Morehouse) Brumley. In 1913 Ethel and her family made the long journey from Missouri to Priest River, Idaho. She grew up and was educated in Priest River. She eventually would marry Edwin G. Peterson, and to this union six children were born. Ethel was a dedicated wife and mother. She was very active in the community belonging to the New Testament Church, Freeman Lake Grange, a past member of the Rebecca's, and the Albeni Falls Women's Club. In what little spare time she had Ethel enjoyed doing various types of crafting, crocheting and growing flowers. Survivors include five daughters Leona Baker of Priest River, Daunice Baker of Priest River, Darlene Dionne of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Shirley Wylie of Priest River, and Karen Heffling of Priest River; one son Duane Peterson also of Priest River; 22 grandchildren, 45 plus great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren; one brother George Brumley of Priest River and one sister, Evelyn Moore. Besides her parents Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Edwin in 1972, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great great grandson. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Priest River, Idaho with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River.
