Eliza was the daughter of Nicholas & Jane Stevenson Wood. She married Robert Fortner, 24 May 1900, Fayette County, Illinois. They had four children.

Eliza Fortner Of Beecher City, Dies

Beecher City — Mrs. Eliza Fortner, 84, of Beecher City, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Memorial hospital, Effingham.

She was the widow of Robert Fortner who died in 1949.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Eva) Beck, Mrs. Leo (Josie) Tipsword, both of Beecher City, and Mrs. Don (Edna) Whisnant, Cisco; and a sister, Mrs. Lou Weber, Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday at Cook funeral home in Beecher City with burial following in Beecher City cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
