Phillip H. Dugro Dies Unexpectedly
Livingston- Phillip Henry Dugro, 43, well-known cattle rancher in the Yellowstone valley, died in his sleep this morning at the family home in the Elbow creek community.
His unexpected death came as a shock to his family and friends. He had apparently been in good health when he retired Monday night.
Born July 14, 1906, in Sweet Grass county, he had spent most of his life in this section of the state. He became engaged in livestock ranching after completing his education and had owned and operated raches in both Sweet Grass and Park county.
He was married to Edith Guern in 1934 at Rexburg, Ida. Since that time the family home had been in the Yellowstone Valley.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Donna Marie Durgro; an uncle Pual Van Cleve, Jr., of Big Timber, and two aunts; Phyllis Church of Big Timber and Dora Lanston of Bozeman. He was a grandson of the late Paul Van Cleve Sr. and Juge Phillip Dugro of New York City, for many years associate justice of the New York state supreme court.
Funeral services were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Big Timber. Fr. P. C. Wolramski officiating and burial was in Mountain View.
