One of the prominent farmers of Lincoln Co., died at his home three miles south of Porter from cancer.
On Nov. 26, 1896, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Hayden of LaMoille, Iowa, and to this union 11 children where born. Four sons and 7 daughters.
He leaves behind his faithfull wife, Bertha Hayden Benson.
daughters Mrs. Jennei and Mrs Mary Oellien of Canby, Merritt, Everett, Pearl,Mabel, Duane, Evelyn and Donald, all of Porter, Miss Susie Benson who lives with her grandmother at LaMoille, IA.One daughter proceded him in death in 1818.
Also left behind his 2 brothers-Henry and Walter Benson of LaMoille, IA., Ray Benson of Porter, and Sam benson of Poison, Montana.The sisters are Mrs. Elsie Coulter of State Center, IA. and Mrs. Hattie Lane of Melbourne, Lowa.
