James J. Houston, 34, of 823 Weadock Ave., died at 5 a.m. today in his home after a seven-month illness. He had been seriously ill for months.

A native of Lima, he was the son of Thomas E. and Ida Houston, the latter living in Sarasota, Fla. He was married Aug. 4, 1940 to Wilma Anderson, who survives. Mr. Houston was a guard at the Lima State Hospital until his recent illness. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his widow and mother are two sons, Ronald and James L., and a daughter, Sharon, at home; two brothers, Thomas E. Jr., 1202 E. 5th St., and Arthur, Sarasota, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Toombs, Mrs. Owen Donnan and Mrs. Robert Wymer, all of Sarasota, Fla.

The body will remain in the Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, until Thursday morning, then will be removed to the Cantwell-Sweet Mortuary for services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Vernon Van Buren will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
