William Harry Stivason, 82, Clairton resident 58 years and retired plant manager, died unexpectedly yesterday at his home, 540 Halcomb Ave. Mr. Stivason was employed for a number of years at the Morris and Bailey plant in Clairton and before his retirement, was general machine shop foreman at the American Steel and Wire Co's Cuyahoga Works in Cleveland. He was a member of Wilson Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania Consistory Scottish Rite and was a life member of Stephen Bayard Lodge 526, F&AM, and Syria Temple of the Shrine. Born Jan 21, 1883, in Adrian, Pa he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Barbara E. Stouffer Stivason. Survivors include his wife, Margaret B. Stivason; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Gilmer of RD 1 Findleyville; Halfbrothers, Joseph A. and George Stivason of Kittanning; a sister, Mrs. Olive S. Tarr, also of Kittanning; and a grandchild. Friends will be received at the Fullerton and Matz Funeral Home, Clairton, today from 7 to 10 p.m. and tomorrow and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be conducted there at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Richard J. Rapp. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park.

Services for William Stivason, 82, retired Clairton steelworker, are being arranged at Fullerton Funeral Home, Clairton. Mr. Stivason who celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary in June died Tuesday at his home at 510 Halcomb Ave., a month before his 83rd birthday. Since his retirement in 1948, Mr. Stisason was well-known throughout the district for designing and building special chairs to aid infants immobilized with dislocated hips. He turned out these feeding tables in his own basement to parents needing them. Mr. Stivason is survived by his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Gilmer, and several grandchildren.
