Alfred Carr, an old gentleman aged about seventy-five, who lived on Baily Run, near Buchtel, last Saturday fell off a load of hay and broke his neck. Mr. Carr is very highly spoken of as a public spirited Christian gentleman and his unfortunate death is deeply regretted. (Athens Journal, Thurs, 31 July 1890, p.1, col.2)
