Mary Cockcroft Hillis - MARIETTA - Mary Cockcroft Hillis, 93, passed away April 3, 2011 at her son's home in Marietta. We are deeply saddened by her death, yet we celebrate her life as she was totally devoted to God, her family and her Church. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah for 71 years. She taught at Isle of Hope School for many years, and served as the school's librarian. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Warnock Hillis, Jr., in 1998. She is survived by her son, Wayne; grandchildren Wayne Jr,, Donna Ellis and Cathy Thomas; four great grandchildren, Grant and Will Hillis and Sutton and Alden Thomas; brother, Hubert Cockcroft. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday April 6th at 1:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 12:30 PM in the Narthex of the Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
