Randy Dale Hinrich, 53, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington after collapsing in his yard while doing yard work. Randy was born December 15, 1957, at Pender, Nebraska to Robert and Dorothy (Siebrandt) Hinrich.

Randy was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pender, graduated from Pender High School in May of 1976, and attended Morningside College in Iowa on a football scholarship. Randy was united in marriage to Carol Clausen, also from Pender, on March 10, 1979 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender. This marriage was blessed with three children; Ryan James, Brett Allen, and Bethany Ann.

Randy worked at IBP in West Point, Nebraska until transferring to the Lexington Plant, which later changed names to Tyson Fresh Meats. He worked for the company for 31 years. He held many jobs while at Tyson; including, Training Coordinator, A & B Shift Supervisor and at the time of his death was Superintendent of Rendering. He was also the "right-hand man" for his wife Carol's Kidz Daycare of 30 years and loved his "little people" and the daycare families as his extended family.

Randy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington for 20 years. He helped organize and build the playground at the church using his handyman skills. Randy was president of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce for two years and was leader of the Dawson Area Development program. Randy was also on the Call Committee for St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender.

Randy so loved being a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He enjoyed hunting, boating, Husker football and taking on the challenge of woodworking and creating gifts with Carol for family and friends. Randy was a big man with a huge heart and will be so very missed by his family, co-workers and many, many friends.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years: Carol Hinrich of Lexington, Nebraska, Son: Ryan Hinrich of Lexington, Nebraska, Daughter: Bethany Hinrich of Kearney, Nebraska and her fiance' John Gutschow, Granddaughter: Courtney Hinrich of Lexington, Nebraska, Mother: Dorothy Hinrich of Pender, Nebraska, Sister: Debbie (Rick) Tiedtke of Stanton, Nebraska, Parents-in-law: Jerry and Shirley Clausen of Pender, Nebraska,Sisters-in-law: Glenda (Jim) Mueller of Emerson, Nebraska; Becky (Louis) Mostek of Pender, Nebraska; Jill (Ken) Nesladek of West Point, Nebraska as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his father; son, Brett on May 12, 1983, as well as his grandparents.

Burial was in St. Mark's Cemetery at Pender, Nebraska.
