Beloved Father, Grandfather, & Great-Grandfather Age 91 of New Brighton on April 1, 2011. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alta. Survived by son Gregg (Lois); daughter Gayle (Sam) Ramer; grandchildren, Margaret Washenberger, Elizabeth Boyd, Nathan Johnson, Nicholas (Anna) Johnson, Natalie (Brett) Germain, Neil Johnson; great-grandson Timber Washenberger; sisters Audrey Behymer and Lorraine (Ralph) Lundborg; nephew Glenn (Joyce) Anderson. Gordon served in four pastorates in Dalbo, MN, Milltown, WI, Montclair, NJ and Chicago, IL before going to Bethel in 1959. He became dean in 1964 and served in that capacity until 1984. Gordon helped start Bethel West in 1977 and moved to California in 1984. He was on the staff of College Ave. Baptist Church as Associate Pastor and as Interim Senior Pastor. Memorial service Friday 10:30 AM at GRACE POINT CHURCH; 2351 Rice Creek Road, New Brighton. Interment Hillside Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-8PM at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL; 515 W. Hwy 96, Shoreview. Memorials preferred to Bethel Theological Seminary or Grace Point Church.
