Pembroke - Ronella F. Owens, 99, died at her home Thursday, January 26, 2006.
The native of Bryan County was born to Berry and Susan Floyd on January 26, 1907 and lived in Bulloch County most of her life. She was a long-time member of the Pembroke United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Ottis H. Owens in 1981 and her son John Kenneth Owens in 2001 and all 8 siblings. She was a loving mother who put family and others before herself.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Martha O. Umberger of Warner Robins, Ellen O. and Hugh Evans of Garfield and Gwen O. and David Strickland of Pembroke; daughter-in-law, Cora Lee Owens of Pembroke; 12 grandchildren, Paula Umberger, Danny Umberger, Gary Andrews, Ronnie Strickland, Leslie Strickland, Amber S. Morris, Lisa Evans, Michele Evans, James Bacon, Calvin Bacon, Penny Shuman and Janice Rouse; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday at Pembroke United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Zeitlin, officiating.
Burial will be in Northside City Cemetery. Morrison Funeral Home, Pembroke, Georgia.
