Silas Burton Judson, son of John and Patience (Fairman) Judson, was born 2 Jun 1769 in Newtown, Connecticut and died 12 Nov 1842, married Diantha Ferris on 24 Dec 1795, who was born 2 Jun 1774 and died 6 Sep 1831. Silas came from Newtown Connecticut and settled with the pioneers in Otsego County, New York. In 1812, he removed to Chemung County, locating on the historic battleground of 1779, where Sullivan won his victory over Butler and Brant. He subsequently went to Seeley Creek, where he died in 1642. While in Connecticut Silas was ensign of a militia company in 1793 and was commissioned Lieutenant in 1794.
