Mrs. Walker was born April 26, 1922 in Avery, Texas. She was a retired School Teacher with DeKalb, ISD, a published author, an artist, a member of the First Baptist Church, DeKalb, the Bethany Class, a member of the Retired Teacher Association and is preceded in death by her husband, Alford A. Walker, her parents, two sisters and three brothers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend to many.
Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Janie and Jon Crew of New Boston, Texas, two sons and one daughter in law, Larry Jim and Bonita Walker of DeKalb, Texas, Michael Walker of DeKalb, Texas, 7 grandchildren, Amy Walker Lindsey, Cory Walker Dukes, Jon K. Crew, Melissa Jeffrey, Julie Michele Combs, Molly Suzanne Corres, Chris Crew, 18 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Bates-Rolf Chapel, DeKalb with Bro. Walter Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Woodmen Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Rolf, DeKalb.
