A 1972 graduate of W.W. Samuell High School, Ginny also graduated from Tarleton State University. Ginny served as President of the North Texas Skeptics society in 1996 and was a State Delegate of the Texas Democratic Party in 2004, 2006 and 2010. Recently, Ginny was honored at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for 25 years of service.
Ginny was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Jean Read Bierschwale and her brother, Louis Phillip Read. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Barnett; her parents, Louis and Hazel Read; sister, Phyllis Wood; niece, Kathryn Cochran; nephews, Louis Wood and Brice Wood; great nephew, Zachary Cochran.
Visitation: 1:30-3pm Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment: Grove Hill Memorial Park.
