Dorothy Marie Ballou Coats, 64, of Tracy died March 31 at her home.

Mrs. Coats was a native of Hamilton, Texas. She lived in Tracy 21 years. She was a service representative for Pacific Bell. Also, she had worked for Reich's Four Corners Restaurant. She had been a volunteer at Tracy Community Memorial Hospital and belonged to the hospital auxiliary. She was a member of the Junior Women's Society and the Wishing Well Society. And she belonged to Daughters of the American Revolution .

She is survived by her husband, William D. Coats Sr. of Tracy; children, William D. Coats Jr. of Pasadena and Stephanie A. Gilbert of Portland, Ore.; sister, Zoe Ann Coggins of El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Private services have been conducted. Burial was at the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Hamilton. Fry Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
